Back to School with Wearable Tech

Taught by Tenaya Hurst

Welcome back to school, Make-HERS! Combine your talent, skill and craftiness to sew a wearable technology accessory with LEDs. Each Make-HER mom and daughter will make her own cuff-bracelet, headband, or other fabric creation. No sewing experience necessary, but be ready to do some experimenting and troubleshooting. After all, you'll be engineering! Our workshop also will include an introduction to other hardware available for the young ladies to continue to make more sewable circuits this fall.

Make-HER workshops are open to girls aged 8 - 12 and their mothers (or other adult female mentors). Our #LadyMaker educators have designed content specifically for this age group. Therefore the workshops are not appropriate for those under age eight, please no younger siblings. You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance through this site. Those who do not show without cancellation will be prevented from registering for subsequent Make-HER workshops.

Each workshop requires a separate registration. Each registration reserves spots for both you and your daughter. If you have more than one daughter aged 8-12, please complete only ONE registration, put both daughters' first names in the name field, and list the younger daughter's age when asked. Please do not register friends for this mother/daughter program.
